Jason English is one of Australia’s most celebrated elite cross country mountain bikers.
He has had success in a range of different types of mountain bike races.
He has experience stage racing and has won the Alice Springs Stage Race, came second in the WA Cape to Cape and has won the Mountains to Beach 3 times.
In marathon races he has won or placed on the podium in most races at least once and has taken home the National Title on two occasions.
Jason is more well known for his 24hr racing where he has won the National 24 Hour Championships from 2008 – 2015, the World Championships from 2009 – 2016, the Scott 24hr from 2008 – 2015 and the New Zealand National Championship for 2015.

With Jason and his wife Jen now sporting 2 kids training needs to be more purposeful and time effective. While Jason has previously relied on his own crazy training methods and techniques his commitments off the bike are important to him (and so they should be!).
With such a focus on endurance racing nutrition is all important to Jason being able to train harder, perform strongly and recover faster.
When it comes to training, there aren’t many athletes that spend as much time on the bike as Jason. When the alarm goes off at 4am Jason needs to feel fresh and recovered for the next training session and with a wife as a dietitian, nutrition is always on his mind.
When squeezing in as many kilometres as possible into a training session before work, Jason can’t afford the time taken to construct his ideal recovery meal. When time permits he will have 5 containers or more on the bench ready to mix in a breakfast bowl. There will often be protein powder, chia seeds, linseed meal, oats, bran or assortments of other organic high fibre hippy food products.
